The Manor Hotel in Christchurch - Evening wedding photography
365 Days of Weddings | Day 49
Using the available surroundings to your advantage is what you employ a wedding photographer to do. We do not have the luxury of choosing our grounds, it’s your wedding and we need to work together to make your wedding photographs epic, no matter where your wedding is. Nearly all wedding venues have their ‘classic’ places for photographers but it’s our job to make your make your wedding photos unique.
At this wedding at The Manor hotel in Christchurch, Paul and Claire wanted something else from their photography. Now there isn’t too much at the venue, a farm down the road and the expanse of the new forest wasn’t an option as it was a March wedding, as such the sun sets pretty early in the evening. I spotted this easter island head in a child’s play park in the grounds of the hotel and is an Easter wedding it would be rude not to use it. I ran my idea past Paul and Claire and they trusted my vision. In reality, there is a climbing frame to the left of the image and a slide to the right of the image which we could plainly see but using the magic of photography and lighting technique we managed to hide all but the statue and light Paul and Claire. We loved this, I hope you do too.
