Studland Bay House wedding – Ben & Justine

On days like this in May I am reminded of just how privileged I am to share one of the biggest days of any couples life. Justine and Ben chose me to be their Studland Bay House Photographer and I was extremely grateful for the opportunity to photograph at this wedding venue for the first time. I’ve been a Purbeck wedding photographer for quite a few years but Studland Bay House has been one of those venues I have missed out on. It is stunning! Gardens that reach the sea, views out to old harry and a beautiful Edwardian building.

Mortons House Hotel Preparations

The day, for Justine, started at Mortons house hotel. I love this hotel in the centre of Corfe Castle, I’ve been there many times over the years and love this place and the hospitality of the owners. The wonderful Elke from Amazing face was on hand for the hair and did an awesome job as usual. Dad was a lively character and I loved his rye sense of humour, his pose in the window says it all. After this, we entered the centre of Corfe castle for the ceremony and Justine arrived in a vintage Citroen car which turned many a head.

St Edwards Church Ceremony

Saint Edwards Church is an amazing church in the centre of Corfe Castle opposite the actual Castle and is the perfect place for a Purbeck Wedding. Ben was speechless when the beautiful Justine walked into the church, tears were being held back by both bride and groom.

Studland Bay House Wedding

The wedding reception was held at the amazing Studland Bay House, I was in awe of this amazing wedding venue. Justine and Ben had organised two Routemaster Buses to transport the guests to the reception they were too good to miss an opportunity to get a photograph on the cliff top. Half the family were French and the majority of them had travelled from Europe for the wedding so a British bus was perfect.

Croquembouche Wedding Cake

My introduction to the French wedding cake, the croquembouche. I love profiteroles and this cake takes them to level 50!  And I have to say the French know how to party, the first dance was so energetic Justine changed into another dress just for the dance! The rest of the night was no exception, a big party!
