Destination wedding- Lake Como
Usually, I’ll head to a wedding under my own steam or rather diesel as I have a distrust of public transport but in this instance, I can’t fly a jumbo jet so I’ll leave that to the experts. For this Lake Como wedding, I had Az from Lemontree photography as my trusty second shooter. We headed over to this Italian Destination wedding a few days early to scope out the surrounding area before the wedding, well it was an excuse for us to have a day to relax rather than rush to a wedding feeling tired. My distrust of the public transport system disappeared as soon as I experienced the Italian Railway system, it runs perfectly! Why we can’t do it in our country I do not know but getting to Como was a breeze.
This photograph for me sums up the wedding day. The bride and her bridesmaids out on the lake being given a thrill-seeker ride on a Riva, a beautiful wooden speedboat, laughing all the way as we were shown the sites, of course, we had to see George Clooney’s house too. I can hear the laughter now, along with the Italian sun warming my back.
As a wedding photography service, I can honestly say the Italian hospitality is more than welcoming, Az and myself were given our own table in a side room, well art gallery, and were waited on. The head of house stated we were guests as much as the wedding party, which is very unusual in the UK.
I’ll remember this wedding for a long time, it was ACE! If you are planning a Lake Como wedding or any other destination wedding, get in touch. Taking a UK photographer with you may not be as expensive as you think.
