We’ll be playing in a brass band at our Hale Park wedding

When Joanna and Jack first got in contact these are the words I read on the enquiry.

“We’ll be playing with our brass band on the day”

Amazing I thought, how different, I’m in. Then I met these amazing, genuine, kind and altogether perfect examples of human beings. I mean, if my children turned out half as decent as these two I’d be over the moon. Then I saw the venue, Hale Park House, a relatively new wedding venue in the area and my first visit, was simply stunning! I could happily be a Hale Park Wedding Photographer every weekend and never run out of ideas to photograph. The buildings are perfectly stately, the driveway gives Kinston Lacey a run for its money and the immaculate grounds glow in the setting sun.

Bridal Preparation

The Morning started at Hale Park for Joanne and at Ibsley Village hall for Jack. I spent the morning with Joanne and my trusty wingman, Matt started with Jack. The accommodation on site for the bridal preparation is spacious, to say the least, as a Hale Park Wedding photographer I was in heaven. Joanne and her bridesmaids were in good form and we all instantly hit it off, especially one who shared my dry banter. Emotions we high already (Joanne, I won’t show you mid-eye leak on here) but when Dad arrived to see Joanne in her dress I just knew this was going to be one of those emotion-filled days I would never forget.

The ceremony at St Peter & St Paul’s Church in Ringwood is one that I will never forget. Firstly the reverend was a legend, quite often photographers are restricted in a church but here when I introduced myself and asked the rules I was met with

“It’s not my day, if the couple wants you to swing from the chandeliers you go for it just don’t interfere with what they do want.

All that aside in this rather large church there wasn’t too much room at the front as there was a 28-piece brass band up front to play Joanne down the aisle. I cannot explain how that moment felt but with the experience of over 500 weddings, I have never felt goosebumps on goosebumps like this. I will never forget it and I’m sure neither will Joanne and Jack. If you’re considering something like this give Hyde Brass Band a call, you will not regret it I promise. I was almost so awestruck I forgot to take photos……almost.

A testament to just how lovely Joanna and Jack are, they took time out of their busy day to visit Joanna’s 94-year-old grandma. I was so touched by this my eye may have leaked a little. One Proud grandma.

Hale Park House Wedding

After the ceremony a short drive to the Hampshire wedding venue, Hale Park House near Fordingbridge. It would be remiss of me to forget to mention the heat on this wedding day, one of the hottest days of the year in the middle of a heatwave. Most of the day was spent under cover as it was just too hot in the August sun. The poor band had to put their red jackets on for me to photograph them by the house and I thought they’d pass out.

Dogs at our wedding, absolutely! Dogs are part of the family and they certainly should be part of the day. Joanna and Jack arranged for their dog sitter to come to Hale Park for a few photos.
