Mike and Lizzie’s wedding at River Cottage HQ was a celebration of love, laughter, and good food. Mike is a long-time friend of mine who moved away some years ago, when he called to say he’d met the love of his life and wanted me to be his River Cottage wedding Photographer there was nothing that would have stopped me. Lizzie, the lady who tamed his wild heart was such a beautiful human, I can honestly say these two will stand the test of time.
River Cottage Wedding in the Kitchen Garden
The ceremony took place in the kitchen garden of River Cottage surrounded by the vegetables and herbs that would be gracing the plates later in the day. As Mike waited for Lizzie to emerge we all enjoyed the sounds of nature buzzing around us but when Lizzie stepped out of the cottage Mike’s world stopped. Mike is not one for emotional outbursts but I’ve never seen him so happy. Lizzie’s brother, a talented saxophonist, added a personal touch by playing during the signing of the register.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a delightful reception in a rustic barn. The venue was decorated with natural elements, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Guests enjoyed a variety of garden games, including welly wanging and skittles, while mingling and celebrating with the newlyweds. This was like nectar to a Documentary wedding photographer like me!
