Wedding at sunset at Sandbanks beach
365 days of weddings | Day 29
Today was a chilly winters day but the sun was shining and we had a stunning sunset. I was reminded of this photograph from Kady and Ollie’s wedding back in the summer.
After the speeches were finished, the food had all gone, and the wine had been flowing, I had to push myself to get Kady and Ollie out from their wedding just as they were starting to get into the party atmosphere. I could see the light changing and the sun started to turn a yellow ochre shade. A sunset was on its way and I was situated at the sandbanks viewpoint for a quintessential Dorset sunset. The Sandbanks hotel on one side sits on Sandbanks beach facing east which catches a beautiful dawn rising off the Isle of Wight but sunset is on the other side. The western elevation of the sandbanks hotel faces across Poole harbour, sunsets are astounding! I could not resist.
I stood in the middle of the road to capture this, cars would have to swerve around me, I was not going to miss this opportunity to capture a shot I’ve been waiting a long time for. A beautiful bride in a dress from Pascalli and a good looking groom against one of Dorsets best skylines. What do you think, worth it?
