2023 was a good year for wedding photography

Like most years 2023 started with the expectation of many weddings and the fun that comes with them. I get to spring with a longing for the wedding season to start, I miss the buzz of capturing the parties of people having the time of their lives. What I didn’t know was that 2023 was going to test wedding photographers all year.

When the weather is good photography isn’t technically tough; creativity is the focus but when the weather turns bad that’s when a seasoned professional is worth their weight in gold. Between April and November, we had no less than 6 storms in the UK. I don’t think I’ve known so many back-to-back wet and windy weddings.

I had weddings local and far, I visited West Wales for the first time and it did not disappoint, neither did the couple getting married there. They made the most of the break in the weather and it was me who had to keep up with them once we decided to climb a cliff. My kind of couple.
