Ross & Sarah’s fantastic history-themed Silchester Farm Wedding
Oh my word, what can I say, I have a new favourite wedding venue in Hampshire. Silchester Farm wedding photography is like waking from the perfect dream for a Hampshire wedding photographer. It has three barns in three different styles, two ponds, manicured gardens and open meadows. If that wasn’t enough the main reception is in a Barn with a HUGE window facing southwest so you get the sunset and the afternoon sun illuminating your wedding breakfast.
My first visit to this new wedding venue just happened to be with the most amazing couple and the dream team of suppliers.

Sarah’s vision of their wedding was perfectly executed. Sarah’s employment is in historical records and she reflected this in the theme throughout the day, transforming areas of Silchester farm into periods of history through time. The ceremony was full of Roman frescos to sit with the location the venue sits within followed by Mesopotamia down by the lake and a Victorian feast for the wedding breakfast.
To add to these themed areas Sarah and Ross used an astonishing array of colours in their floral styling to tie it all together. Everything was executed perfectly. The team at Silchester Farm worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything went to plan without showing any effort on the surface, a mark of truly professional service.

Now every now and again I see or meet something new, unique or mindblowing. At this wedding that certainly happened when I met Aaron, the event Illustrator. This guy was not only one of the most talented people I’ve met but was also a genuinely nice guy and extremely hard-working. He drew a live illustration of the ceremony and followed this by drawing pretty much everyone at the wedding individually, a drawing every 5 mins until 11 pm! WOW is all I can say. Silchester Farm and its astonishing afternoon light
I’ve seen a lot of barn venues over the years and each one has its own charisma but the unique feature that Silchester Farm has to offer to a Silchester Farm Wedding Photographer is the sublime afternoon light. A HUGE window faces west and catches the best of the afternoon sun and floods the wedding breakfast in its glow. Check out the speeches in its gaze.
Wedding Party Time!
No wedding is complete without throwing some shapes on the dancefloor. Silchester Farm’s dancefloor is huge and so are the dance moves. If you need to find me at a wedding when the dancefloor is full you don’t need to search too hard, I’m there along with the guests showing all of my dance moves, all 2 of them
